A Mom and a Camera

One stay-at-home mom documenting the everyday

Project 365 Vol. 2 | December 16 – December 22

December 23, 2014

It has been so dreary around here this past week!  I’ve been doing a lot of last minute shooting and on a few days only took 3 or 4 pictures.  You would think this time of year would be so inspiring with tons of opportunities for great photos, but for me it’s been the opposite.  But that’s one of the reasons I love doing this project it forces me to shoot even I don’t feel like it and to push through those times.

Tuesday, December 16 | I was able to spend some time in Asher’s preschool class and it was great getting to see him in his element at school!46-365 - December 16, 2014

Wednesday, December 17 | Asher and Vivienne spent the day with Grammy and Grandpa and Asher brought back this little golf cart.  He loves letting it race down the hallway.  47-365 - December 17, 2014

Thursday, December 18 | Ricke and I celebrated our 4th anniversary!  Nana was wonderful enough to watch the kids so we could go out for a lovely dinner.  Right before we left I got some pictures of the kids making cookies with Nana and I’m so glad I did because Vivienne was covered in flour!  48-365 - December 18, 2014

Friday, December 19 | She was so mad because Asher’s chair was blocking her way to the counter! 49-365 - December 19, 2014

Saturday, December 20 | “Vivienne will you hold my hand?  My arm is long so it can reach you.” – AsherIMG_6233

Sunday, December 21 | Favorite slippers. 51-365 - December 21, 2014

Monday, December 22 | After what seemed liked like ages of dreary skies the sun was out!52-365 - December 22, 2014

Project 365 Vol. 2 | December 9 – December 15

December 16, 2014

Thanks to sick children and dreary weather I was feeling very uninspired this week.  But I stuck with it and still shot everyday.

Tuesday, December 9 |  We finally decorated our tree and Asher placed all his ornaments on the same 2 branches.  39-365 - December 9, 2014

Wednesday, December 10 |  I really dislike wrapping presents.  So you can imagine how happy I was when only an hour after wrapping some presents I came upstairs to see that Asher had unwrapped all of his!  40-365 - December 10, 2014

Thursday, December 11 | She didn’t want to get dressed and I liked the shadows.   41-365 - December 11,2014

Friday, December 12 | An early Christmas gift from Nana and Grandpa.  42-365 - December 12, 2014

Saturday, December 13 | They love watching Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.  43-365 - December 13, 2014

Sunday, December 14 | It was in the 40’s so we spent some time outside enjoying the sun and warmer temperatures.  44-365 - December 14, 2014

Monday, December 15 | Another warm day so we headed to one of our favorite parks!  Vivienne cannot take her eyes off Asher, she always has to know where he is and what he’s doing.  45-365 - December 15, 2014

Please continue on and see what Amy has captured this week!

December Monthly Portrait

December 11, 2014

I love these monthly portraits I’ve been taking of the kids.  I feel like they allow me to really see each child in a way other photographs of them don’t.  I’m really looking forward to looking back at them and seeing how much they have grown and changed.

I feel so thankful to have a nice park so close to our house.  Someday I’ll miss taking the kids there.

Project 365 Vol. 2 | December 2 – December 8

December 9, 2014

Another week!  They just seem to be flying by right now.

Tuesday, December 2 | Vivienne loves doing puzzles.  At some point each day she comes downstairs, pulls them all out, empties them, then puts them back together.  The really cute part about it though is each time she puts a piece in it’s place she shouts “I got it!”32-365 - December 2, 2014

Wednesday, December 3 | Another wonderful afternoon at the Ann Arbor Hands on Museum.  33-365 - December 3, 2014

Thursday, December 4 | “Feel his fuzzy whisker.”34-365 - December 4, 2014

Friday, December 5 | Watching big brother in awe.35-365 - December 5, 2014

Saturday, December 6 | I love colored lights on Christmas trees!  36-365 - December 6, 2014

Sunday, December 7 | Raiding the pantry.  They are quite a pair.  37-2

Monday, December 8 | Vivienne is proud of herself now that she can peel her own Clementine.  38-365 - December 8, 2014

Please continue on and check out the beautiful work of Alicia!
