Keeping Asher in-line is going to be a full-time job for Vivienne. 馃檪
I know these pictures are a bit blurry but I couldn’t脗聽resist脗聽posting them.
One stay-at-home mom documenting the everyday
I long for the the warm days of spring when it’s easier to take the kids out and about because you don’t have to bundle them all up. 脗聽But it’s still cold here in Michigan and unfortunately the cold and lack of sun has left me not really in the mood to take pictures :(. 脗聽I did however force myself to take some this morning and once I started I realized that I missed it. 脗聽So hopefully there will some more photos taken this week :).
One year ago today Asher and I were down in the corner of our basement as an EF3 tornado swept through our脗聽neighborhood. 脗聽Thankfully no one was killed or even injured in the storm! 脗聽It’s hard to believe it’s been a year because even know on windy days (which we’ve had a lot of this past year) I still get a bit anxious and if it’s windy at night I don’t sleep well, but thankfully it is starting to get better. 脗聽Days after the tornado hit I was脗聽constantly脗聽going over what if’s in my head and thinking of the worst outcome, it was not good for me, but my loving husband reminded me none of those what if’s happened and everything was ok. 脗聽Yes, we had extensive damage done to our house and lost personal items but Asher and I were safe and unharmed. 脗聽So looking back I’m thankful for the Lord’s脗聽protection脗聽and the reminder that “things” aren’t important but the people are. 脗聽And anytime those what if’s creep into my head I just remind myself how blessed I am.
Below are a few photos from the first few days after the tornado.
This is what I saw when I first looked out the basement window after the tornado. 脗聽I remember thinking “it’s not that bad.” 脗聽However, I had yet to see the upstairs of my house or look down the street.
Asher all bundled up in the basement. 脗聽We stayed in the basement till family arrived.
The yellow cation tape meant that the脗聽rescue脗聽workers had been to our house. 脗聽They kicked in our door in about 5脗聽minutes脗聽after the tornado came through to make sure we were ok.
Our mailbox :(. 脗聽It’s been a year and it still isn’t fixed.
This beautiful double rainbow came 2 days after the tornado.
Our house the morning after the tornado. 脗聽It may have been a mess but I’m thankful that it was still standing seeing how脗聽others脗聽in our neighborhood脗聽weren’t脗聽as fortunate.
Our house the all boarded up the afternoon after the tornado. 脗聽The beginning of the 2 month repair process.
