I actually have several pictures of Asher and I from this past week and was debating about which one to use.  This one was taken on his birthday after Ricke and I gave him his birthday cake and it’s special to me.  When I first looked at it I instantly noticed myself and said what a terrible picture.  But the picture is not about me.  The picture is about the memory of Asher having his cake and getting it all over himself and the floor.  It’s about the family time that Ricke, Asher, and I had that night.  It’s about being in the picture with my son.  And that’s why it’s special to me.

I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned it before but just in case I’ll mention it again, reading is one of Asher’s favorite things to do!  He is such a little book worm!  I find it funny that he even took his first steps at the library.

Asher really could sit on my lap all day and have me read to him.  I look forward to when he is older and being able to share with him some of my favorites like the Chronicles of Narnia and  The Queen’s Thief Series :).

4 weeks down, only 48 more to go :).  I have to say I’m really enjoying this challenge of making sure I’m getting in the picture with Asher.  Some weeks I plan on doing something more creative, but other weeks it’ll be just us cheesing for the camera (well I’ll at least be cheesing for the camera).  And some weeks there will be two pictures, like this week, because I want to make sure Ricke is also getting in the picture.  My goal is that Asher will have lots of pictures of us with him.
